DC Emancipation Day 2026: Slavery, Memory, and Reconciliation Campus Walking Tour

Led by Professor Adam Rothman, Director of the Center for the Study of Slavery and Its Legacies, the walking tour will coincide with DC Emancipation Day 2026, commemorating the anniversary of the signing of the 1862 DC Compensated Emancipation Act, the law that abolished slavery in the District of Columbia.
