The 700,000 residents of Washington, D.C. deserve full power over our local government. Free DC is a renewed campaign to protect Home Rule and win lasting dignity for our communities by building the cultural and political movement it will take to win. 

Photographer Nancy Shia’s work, featured on the Out My Window website, offers a rich local history resource for D.C. area teachers, students, and the wider community — helping connect today’s movement to D.C.’s long legacy of activism. Nancy is still documenting D.C. life and protests today.
