Freedom Nights: The Black Panthers

Project STAND presents "Freedom Nights: The Black Panther," an evening with Dr. Jasmin Young, who is currently developing her manuscript, Black Women with Guns: Armed Resistance in the Black Freedom Struggle. She co-edited the Black Power Encyclopedia: From “Black is Beautiful” to Urban Uprisings (Greenwood Press, 2018). The event is moderated by Jessica Rucker, PhD student in the Department of American Studies at the University of Maryland.

The event will include a screening of The Black Panthers: Vanguard of the Revolution, a Q&A along with a discussion on the importance of archiving and legacy!
