Celebrate the Books from Birth 10th Anniversary

  • Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library - Central Library 901 G Street Northwest Washington, DC, 20001 United States (map)

For ten years, families across D.C. have opened their doors to stories, built reading routines, and grown alongside Books from Birth and Beyond the Book. This program has reached a decade — and that’s something worth celebrating together.

Join Books from Birth and Beyond the Book for a joyful birthday party honoring the families, caregivers, and young readers who made ten years possible. Come celebrate the stories you’ve shared, the milestones you’ve reached, and the community you’ve helped build.

This free anniversary celebration will feature:

  • A concert with family favorites Marsha and the Positrons

  • Laugh-together improv fun with Story Tapestries

  • Interactive storytimes featuring beloved children’s books

  • Hands-on craft stations inspired by favorite characters and stories

  • Playful literacy activities designed for little learners

  • Giveaways and surprises to keep the reading going at home

  • Birthday cake — because every great story deserves a party

Whether your child has been receiving Books from Birth titles for years or you’re just getting started, this celebration is for you. Honoring ten years of stories — and the families who bring them to life every day.
