Capital City Go-Go: Education Day Game

  • Entertainment & Sports Arena (also known as CareFirst Arena) 1100 Oak Drive Southeast Washington, DC, 20032 United States (map)

Teaching for Change's Teach the Beat initiative in partnership with Capital City Go-Go, co-hosts the Go-Go Education Day fusing basketball with the distinctive sound of go-go music. Students will have an interactive experience to help them learn about the rich history related to go-go music and its role in D.C. culture. This is the perfect field trip opportunity for local students K-12.

Education Days include advance lesson plans for teachers and educators (courtesy of Teach the Beat), educational entertainment during timeouts and halftime, and a take-home workbook for students including activities and lessons (courtesy of Teach the Beat).

These events uplift the Black Lives Matter at School principles: Black Villages, Intergenerational, and Unapologetically Black.
