Application Deadline: Summer Graphic Novel Project

Application Deadline

Shout Mouse Press, in partnership with the National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA), is now accepting applications for a summer writing workshop for girls and gender-expansive youth of color (ages 12-16) in the D.C. area. Participants will collaborate on writing and publishing a graphic novel set in a fictional middle school, exploring themes such as identity, body image, friendship, belonging, and mental health, through interconnected stories grounded in their lived experiences. 8-12 writers will be selected for the workshop.

The deadline to apply is April 19. The workshop runs July 27-August 14, Monday-Friday from 10am-1pm (location: True Reformer Building, with final sessions at NMWA).
