A 35-hour paid professional development opportunity to learn to effectively integrate geospatial technologies (GIS) to enhance student learning in existing lessons. Open to all teachers of grades 6—12 in the D.C. metro area, including teachers at public, charter, and private schools. Participants receive a $500 stipend upon completion of the training, and up to $450 in additional stipend for implementing lessons created in the training.
Training led by Amanda Huron (UDC) and Eva Reid (DC Office of the Chief Technology Officer). This project is funded by the National Science Foundation.
