Author Rebecca Tuuri, PhD will discuss her recent book, Strategic Sisterhood: The National Council of Negro Women in the Black Freedom Struggle, highlighting the National Council of Negro Women’s behind-the-scenes efforts fighting racism, poverty, and sexism in the late twentieth century. As the founder and first president of the Council, Mrs. Bethune played an important role in guiding the organization. Books will be available for purchase on site. This event is free and open to the public.
