The Carlos Rosario School is the first adult public charter school in the nation and serves immigrant populations from over 80 countries. This year it has partnered with the Smithsonian Anacostia Community Museum to re-install the Gateways/Portales exhibition at the school.
Fully bilingual (English/Spanish), this award-winning exhibition highlights the triumphs, tribulations, and immigration stories of Latinx peoples in Washington, DC, and Baltimore, MD, through interactive panels, photos, and art.
Experienced DC-PZ educators will facilitate an exploration of how the content of the exhibition can be used in various contexts, while two artists featured in the exhibition will lead the culminating portion of the evening. Participants will enjoy light refreshments while being guided through the exhibit by Carlos Rosario students.
